San Lorenzo is located just outside the old city walls and near the central campus of the University of Rome, near Porta Maggiore, near the central train station (Stazione Termini).

The neighborhood is traditionally artisan with cabinet makers, antique refinishers, etc. There has been a recent boom of artistic boutiques and specialty stores. Popular pizzerias and restaurants are abundant and delicious.

The apartment is on the fourth floor - easy steps but no elevator.  Facing an interior courtyard, the house is exceptionally quite.

The apartment is a fully furnished "monocamera", i.e., a large single room (43 sq. meters - all hardwood floor) divided into three areas: kitchen, living, sleeping . . .  Plus there is a bathroom (with bathtub and a great shower) and a balcony. The washing machine is in the bathroom.
