For more information:

St. Augustine is located in northeastern Florida, about halfway between Jacksonville and Daytona Beach. It is right on the Atlantic Ocean and features 26 miles of beautiful beaches. The downtown area is full of tourist attractions, historical and otherwise, as well as a lot of shops, art galleries, antique centers, and many fine restaurants. In fact there is food galore for everyone's taste - from health food to international cuisine of all types. Fine golf courses abound.

In the winter, St. Augustine has a professional concert season, theatre and opera. The Jacksonville Symphony is an hour away to the north and frequent cultural events are held in Daytona Beach, about an hour away to the south.

Dress is casual, lifestyle can best be called laid-back and no one hurries anywhere for anything. The environment is totally devoid of any hustle and bustle. There is no "fast lane" in downtown Saint Augustine.

Walking is the best way to see the many points of interest in the historic district, the boats along the bay-front, and the best way to enjoy the ocean views and the beaches.
